Welcome Message From Our Chair

Many people interested in the biological sciences are unaware of the discipline of plant pathology and the research opportunities that it has to offer. Plant pathology involves the study of interactions between plants and microorganisms at all levels of organization from genetic and biochemical to organismal and ecological. Molecular studies utilize the latest tools in genomics, proteomics, metabolomics and bioinformatics, while organismal and population level studies use modern environmental monitoring techniques and sophisticated statistical and mathematical modes of analysis. The organisms under study include fungi, bacteria, viruses and nematodes, with both fundamental and mission-oriented objectives.
