Current and Former Plant Pathology Grad Students Among Authors of Most-Read and Most-Cited Articles in 2025 in APS Journals

PLP student Saskia Desiree Mesquida-Pesci appeared as first author on the Most-Read AND Most-Cited Phytopathology Article of 2025 entitled “Rhizopus stolonifer Exhibits Necrotrophic Behavior when Causing Soft Rot in Ripe Fruit”.

 

Former PLP students Sebastian Fajardo and Tyler Bourret both appeared as co-author on the Most-Read Phytopathology Article of 2025 entitled “Preserving the Biologically Coherent Generic Concept of Phytophthora, “Plant Destroyer””.

 

Former PLP student Sandra Mosquera appeared as co-author on the Most-Cited Plant Disease Article of 2025 entitled “Spray-Induced Gene Silencing (SIGS) as a Tool for the Management of Pine Pitch Canker Forest Disease”.
